The F3236 module is used as an interface to connect 16 digital sensors or switches to the safety controller within the Safety Instrumented System (SIS). These sensors or switches provide binary input signals (on/off) to indicate the status of safety critical parameters during the process.
F3236 performs the following key tasks:
Signal conditioning: It receives the raw voltage signal from the connected sensor and amplifies or scales it to a level compatible with the internal signal range of the safety controller.
Isolation: It electrically isolates the sensor circuit from the internal circuit of the safety controller. This improves safety by preventing potential faults in the grounding circuit current and sensor circuits from affecting the operation of the safety controller.
Data conversion: The module can convert the digital input signal of the sensor into a format compatible with the safety controller for processing.
