Siemens and the National Development and Reform Commission signed a memorandum of understanding on continuing cooperation

 

 

On June 20 local time, witnessed by the two prime ministers, Zheng Shanjie, director of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, and Roland Busch, chairman of the board of directors, president and CEO of Siemens AG, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Continuing Cooperation between the National Development and Reform Commission of the National Development and Reform Commission and Siemens AG of the Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin. Next, under the framework of the memorandum, both parties will jointly promote Siemens to strengthen cooperation with China and create new highlights in digital and other fields of cooperation.

 

Witnessed by the prime ministers of the two countries, Zheng Shanjie, director of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Boleren, chairman of the Siemens Board of Directors, signed a memorandum of understanding on continuing cooperation.
Siemens has been working together with China for over 150 years, and the renewal of today’s memorandum of cooperation marks a new stage in Siemens’ development in China. “Boloren said,” Looking forward to the future, we will use innovative technologies in the digital and low-carbon fields to cooperate with various partners such as the National Development and Reform Commission in a wider and deeper range, bringing new assistance to the high-quality development of the Chinese economy
The cooperation between Siemens and China can be traced back to 1872, when Siemens provided China with the first pointer telegraph machine. In October 1985, Siemens signed a comprehensive memorandum of cooperation with the then Ministry of Machinery Industry of the China to jointly promote the development of mechanical, electrical engineering and electronic industries, which was the first similar cooperation agreement signed by China after the reform and opening up. Siemens and the National Development and Reform Commission renewed this cooperation memorandum twice in 2011 and 2016, respectively, and further signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of digital technology innovation and application under the existing cooperation framework in 2017.
