Pickering company of the UK launched new single slot PXI and pxie 1000base-t1 fault injection modules, providing high flexibility and performance

As a leading manufacturer of signal switch and simulation solutions for electronic testing and verification, Pickering company of the UK recently launched 1000base-t1 PXI and pxie fault injection switch modules, expanding the scope of supported protocols. The compact single slot 40 / 42-203 and 40 / 42-204 series modules have high performance and can switch up to 200V voltage and 0.8A current. The typical differential bandwidth is 1.6GHz and 700MHz respectively, which provide appropriate specifications higher than 1000base-t1. The module can select PXI or pxie control interface to facilitate flexible selection of chassis.

The new 1000base-t1 fault injection module provides a variety of channel number options and two fault bus connections. 40-203 (PXI) and 42-203 (pxie) series modules can support up to 6 channels of two-wire connection, while dual group multiplex 40-204 (PXI) and 42-204 (pxie) series modules can support one or two channels of two-wire connection. Both models provide a signal path with 100 Ω controlled transmission line impedance. The 40 / 42-203 series uses high-quality reed relays designed for high-frequency applications, and the 40 / 42-204 series uses high-quality electromagnetic relays. Both relays can provide a long service life.
For small-scale test applications, both series provide flexible selection of partial filling. 40 / 42-203 can provide three channel version and 40 / 42-204 can provide one channel version. If the test requirements are improved, there is no need to increase the space. Just replace the fully filled module in a single slot of the same chassis to increase the number of channels to 6 or 2 respectively. Both series use MMCX connector interfaces. Although they are not differential connectors, they can achieve a high number of channels in a small panel area.
Steve Edwards, switch product manager of Pickering interfaces, explained the new product: “1000base-t1 was originally developed for the automotive market. In modern automotive design, a requirement is to achieve high transmission rate with a pair of differential wires with the lowest weight. This standard is also used in industrial control and building infrastructure Ethernet installation. Users can use our fault injection products to simulate the breaking of one or two wires in each pair of differential wires Crack. In addition, two fault bus connections can be connected to the power rail, such as grounding or battery and other injection signals, or short circuited to the connection of differential lines. 40 / 42-204 series modules can route between differential lines and external devices of test equipment, adding new features to Pickering’s fault injection product series. Due to the diversity of target industries, we believe that these fault injection products will have many applications in various ate systems. “
Several manufacturers design and produce connector systems for 1000base-t1 applications, but the industry has not standardized for specific series. Therefore, customers can propose the type of connector they want to the manufacturer. Pickering connect, the connector branch of Pickering, can produce customized adapters to convert the MMCX connector on the front panel of the module into the 1000base-t1 connector interface required by the module connector. In addition, it also produces standard accessories. In addition, Pickering also provides a standard three-year warranty for fault injection modules.
