ABB provides remote monitoring services for Arauco’s five Chilean pulping plants

Arauco introduces ABB solutions to ensure the operational reliability and technical progressiveness of the pulp mill

Remote monitoring of several pulping plants through the central control room in Concepci ó n, Chile, is conducive to promoting the internal cooperation of Arauco Group

ABB and Arauco, a manufacturer of forestry products, have reached a cooperation agreement to provide remote monitoring services for its five pulping plants in Chile to improve the reliability and monitoring capability of the entire production process.

 

According to the agreement, ABB will help Arauco establish a remote monitoring operation room in the center of Concepci ó n, Chile, and provide remote monitoring infrastructure installation and follow-up services. In addition, ABB is also responsible for connecting the operation room with various ABB Abilities in Arauco and Licancel pulping plants ™ The System 800xA distributed control system (DCS) is connected together. As part of the Arauco project, the other three pulping plants of Constituci ó n, Nueva Aldea and Valdivia are supported by another DCS.

 

ABB will also provide seven sets of Extended Operator Workplace (EOW) control room consoles, and undertake the configuration and installation of each pulping plant. ABB has a large installation base in Arauco and won the bid with good scalability, long-term supply capacity and remote connection technology.
