Yesterday, abb and Huayu automobile, China’s leading auto parts supplier, jointly announced the establishment of a joint venture to promote the transformation and upgrading of Intelligent Manufacturing in China’s auto industry.
Based on the successful cooperative relationship between the two sides, the joint venture will further promote Huayu to achieve high flexibility and sustainable development in China’s auto parts manufacturing field.
With the accelerating pace of electric transformation in the automotive industry, auto parts manufacturers must increase investment in flexible production equipment to cope with the rapidly changing demand and trend. The cooperation between ABB Robot and Huayu automobile will expand the application of intelligent manufacturing technology and artificial intelligence in the industry. ABB will hold 40% of the shares of the joint venture, and both parties agree not to disclose the specific details of the relevant investment.

The newly established joint venture is expected to start operation in the second quarter of 2022 and will greatly improve the efficiency of the auto parts industry based on the professional knowledge and rich manufacturing experience of both parties. From body to chassis system, from power battery system to electronic drive system, a series of industry customers will benefit from new, efficient and environment-friendly sustainable production and manufacturing methods.
